Roseline Atieno Oyola, also known as Nanny Rosie, a Kenyan woman who captured widespread attention on social media last year with a heartfelt farewell video as she left her employer’s family in Lebanon, has recently made a return to the Middle Eastern country.
Upon her arrival, Rosie was warmly received at the airport by her employer and the two children she had been caring for, both of whom displayed a profound affection for her.
In a video shared by Rosie’s employer, the children eagerly ran towards her, embracing her with love. The employer joyfully exclaimed, “Rosie, you’ve returned. You’re back here, Rosie. We missed you.”
Holding back tears, Rosie expressed her emotions as she hugged her employer’s children, saying, “I missed you so much.”
The mother of three has come back to Lebanon approximately two months after bidding a heartfelt farewell to be with her family in Kenya.
In a surprising turn of events, Rosie declined an offer to move to Canada, presented by Catherine Joe, the director of Vintmark Travel Agency. The offer included a job with a salary of Ksh 30,000 and a sponsored student visa.
Content creator Divinar Joseph shared the information, stating, “Catherine Joe is searching for the viral Lebanese nanny and is offering two options – a temporary nanny job with remuneration starting from Ksh 30,000. She can work for her while awaiting the documentation process for Canada.”
This decision was made despite Rosie’s employer advising her against returning to work in Lebanon and encouraging her to stay in Kenya with her family.
Last month, Rosie’s boss, identified as Maria Cataleya on TikTok, expressed her mixed feelings about Rosie’s potential return. She hoped for Rosie’s return but admitted that, deep down, she wished Rosie wouldn’t come back. Maria explained, “Well, Maria is a very humane person. Of course, I hope she comes back. But I don’t think so. It’s like I don’t want her to come back. I want her to enjoy her time with her children and maybe stay with them.”
In a TikTok video that garnered over 2.4 million views and 106.1k likes within 24 hours, Maria openly shared her belief that the emotionally charged viral video could lead to better opportunities for Rosie outside of Lebanon. “I’m sure after this online video, she’ll be able to find better opportunities than returning to Lebanon,” Rosie’s employer confidently stated.
