Pastor Victor Kanyari has called on Bishop Ben Kiengei to issue a formal apology to social media influencer Pritty Vishy, suggesting that the apology be accompanied by a monetary gesture of Ksh 1 million. Pastor Kanyari offered to contribute half of this amount, urging Bishop Kiengei to match his donation.
On TikTok, Pastor Kanyari expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation and his willingness to assist in making amends. He said, “Kiengei, you’ve made a mistake. We need to give Vishy Ksh 1 million. I’ll contribute Ksh 500,000, and you should provide the remaining Ksh 500,000 so we can apologize to Vishy properly. You can’t apologize with empty hands!”
Pastor Kanyari also praised Vishy’s beauty and criticized the Bishop’s comments. He argued that it was inappropriate for Bishop Kiengei to demean her appearance, stating, “You’ve insulted her by saying she doesn’t have a good body, but have you looked at her closely? Above all, Vishy is well-developed up top, yet you’ve disrespected her. Leave Vishy alone.”
The pastor further advised Bishop Kiengei to distance himself from Vishy and refrain from making derogatory remarks. “Kiengei, you’ve really stepped out of line. You’re used to criticizing me, but now you’ve gone too far,” he added.
The controversy began when Bishop Kiengei mocked Pritty Vishy during an interview on his own TV station. He imitated the accent and slogans of rapper Simple Boy and disparaged Vishy’s relationship with him, suggesting that Vishy was only leveraging Simple Boy’s fame due to her own lack of talent.
Following the backlash from Kenyans who found the Bishop’s comments offensive and inappropriate for someone in his position, Bishop Kiengei apologized and assured that such an incident would not recur. He also extended an invitation to Vishy to attend his church.
