Kenyan RnB singer and songwriter, Jacob Obunga, popularly known as Otile Brown, recently took to Instagram to express his gratitude towards his fans. In particular, he highlighted the love and support he receives from mothers, who he says are his number one fans. Despite their absence at his shows, Otile acknowledged their unwavering support, which has been a constant source of motivation since he lost his mother at the age of 12.
Otile spoke of the influence mothers have had on his life, claiming that they have been his guardian angels ever since he joined the music industry. He revealed that before making any decisions, he considers the impact it may have on parents who are fans of his music. Otile acknowledged that he is not perfect but strives every day to earn their love, as it is the greatest feeling ever and his soul feeds from it.
Otile’s mother’s death left him with no choice but to sell traditional liquor to make ends meet. Due to lack of fees, he even had to drop out of school. However, before her death, his mother had expressed confidence in him, assuring him that he would be okay. With her words as his motivation, Otile relocated to Nairobi in 2013 to establish himself in the music industry.
By acknowledging the importance of his fans and sharing his personal struggles, Otile has successfully connected with his audience on a deeper level. This emotional connection has the potential to increase engagement and reach on social media platforms like Facebook and improve search engine optimization on Google.
