Award-winning content creator Murugi Munyi, formerly known as Yummy Yummy, recently acquired a brand new Land Rover Discovery. The proud owner took to social media to showcase her self-gifted luxury SUV.
Munyi, who was named Pulse YouTube Influencer of the Year 2022 and also hosts the ‘The Messy Inbetween’ podcast, revealed that she treated herself to the ride as a reward for her hard work as both a wife and mother. She even gave her new vehicle a unique name, ‘Shaba’, which means bronze in Swahili.
The Discovery is an upgrade from her previous car, a Toyota Vanguard, which she recently sold. She had intended to upgrade her vehicle last year but instead invested the funds in a clothing, handbags, and accessories store in Lavington, Nairobi.
2022 was a great year for Munyi, who also received the Pulse Podcast Influencer of the Year and Instagram Influencer of the Year awards. She was also one of the lucky 13 recipients of Spotify’s $100,000 (Ksh 12 Million) Africa Podcast Fund, which supports independent emerging podcasters from Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, and Ghana – the four African countries with the largest podcast audience.
Alongside Lydia Mukami, Munyi hosts The Messy Inbetween, which covers topics such as love,
money, work, life, and advice, all led by lived experience. The podcast provides a safe space for women to openly discuss their experiences.
