Worshippers Allied to Kitui Pastor Shot Dead in Robbery Incident Speak, Revealing the Pastor’s Admirable Behaviors

The congregation of the Open Heaven City Chapel in Soweto, Kitui County, finds itself reeling in disbelief and shock following the revelation of their pastor, Ezekiel Muinde Mwangangi, being implicated in a violent robbery that ultimately led to his demise at the hands of law enforcement.

Previously perceived as a modest and unassuming man of the cloth, Pastor Mwangangi’s entanglement in criminal activities has shattered the perception of him as a trusted spiritual guide among his followers.

Ambrose Wambua, a member of the church, conveyed the community’s astonishment, noting that there were no discernible signs of misconduct from Pastor Mwangangi during his tenure within the ministry. Wambua lamented how the pastor’s active participation in church affairs had falsely portrayed him as a devout preacher of the gospel.

The startling truth came to light when Pastor Mwangangi and an accomplice endeavored to rob a wholesale shop, leading to a fatal confrontation with the authorities. Discovered with a fake firearm, a blade, and counterfeit police equipment, the pastor’s dual identity as a criminal contradicted his role as a spiritual leader.

Despite Pastor Mwangangi’s involvement in unlawful activities, David Munene, the church’s founding pastor, clarified that he was unaware of the former’s illicit pursuits. Munene recounted Pastor Mwangangi’s introduction to the ministry and how he was entrusted with overseeing a new branch, despite occasional complaints regarding his conduct.
