Official Kinuthia, a popular TikTok content creator recognized for his distinctive cross-dressing style, confidently defended his fashion choices and make-up during his appearance at the Talanta Hela event at State House on Friday, June 9th.
Making a grand entrance in a stunning red suit paired with stylish heels, Kinuthia effortlessly caught everyone’s attention. His natural hairstyle and expertly applied makeup further accentuated his unique look.
During an interview with YouTuber Mungai Eve on Sunday, June 11th, Kinuthia expressed his elation at being invited to the prestigious State House function.
“I’m absolutely thrilled. It’s an incredible feeling. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have this golden opportunity. If I had a flight scheduled for today, I would have canceled it,” he expressed gratefully, appreciating the honor of being among the selected few.
Kinuthia also emphasized that this occasion presented a rare chance to witness the President in person, aside from election campaigns. He acknowledged the scarcity of such opportunities and cherished the prospect of attending the event.
Recognizing the unique nature of the occasion, Kinuthia eagerly anticipated the outcomes and recommendations that would arise from the Talanta Hela team.
He commended the progressive essence of the Talanta Hela initiative, stating, “This will be immensely beneficial in preventing further time wastage. Previously, I felt we were expending a lot of effort fighting for better cameras and equipment. But now, if you come across something that can assist you, it’s truly wonderful.”
Explaining his choice of attire, Kinuthia shared, “By the way, I received the invitation just yesterday (Thursday, June 8th), and I pondered over what to wear. Then I recalled this outfit that I had worn before and captured pictures in. I thought, ‘This is what I will wear tomorrow’,” referring to his two-piece red suit.
He also mentioned his decision to wear his natural hair instead of the wigs he typically flaunts during his content creation.
“As I was coming to State House, I wanted to do something different,” he explained.
Addressing the attention he garners when he wears women’s clothing in public, Kinuthia acknowledged that it can be surprising for some individuals.
However, he firmly stated that it is an integral part of his brand and his established identity.
“People are always taken aback when I walk into a place dressed like this. It’s a shock because they didn’t anticipate me looking this way. But this is the brand. This is the Kinuthia that everybody recognizes. So, when you are invited to a particular place as a brand, you should represent yourself authentically. People should be accustomed to it by now,” he asserted.
To reassure Kenyans, Kinuthia emphasized that his choice of clothing solely relates to his brand and nothing more.
He posed a question, asking, “If I didn’t create the content I do, would you even know who I am?”
