Irene Nekesa, the renowned househelp employed by Diana Marua and Bahati, recently shared insights into the daily expenses incurred at Bahati’s residence. In a candid discussion captured in a YouTube video, Nekesa, along with two other domestic workers, took the opportunity to elucidate to their employer, Diana Marua, the intricacies of their daily spending and the reasons behind the consistently high budget.
Nekesa revealed that the household typically allocates up to Ksh30,000 per day, attributing this substantial amount to various necessities such as food, fuel, purchasing electricity tokens, and other essential daily requirements.
“Kuseme tu ukweli kwa hii nyumba tunaspendingi kama 30k per day,” candidly expressed Nekesa.
Diana interjected, mentioning that the minimum amount her staff could request for domestic use was Ksh10,000. She emphasized that even with this allocation, it often falls short of meeting all their needs.
“In a day, pesa kidogo kwa hii nyumba yenye ntaitishwa 10,445. Na bado guys it’s not enough,” Diana remarked.
She further shared that she has capped her average daily expenditure at Ksh6,000, acknowledging the inevitability of surpassing this limit regularly.
“Naweza sema averagely per day ni 6k. Yani hio najua tu lazima,” stated Diana.
Acknowledging the expensive lifestyle maintained by the Bahatis, the househelps admitted that residing in such a grand house and sustaining it on a daily basis incurs significant costs. Despite the financial aspects, they expressed gratitude towards Diana Marua and Bahati for fostering a positive living environment and treating them as integral members of their family.
