In a recent interview with the Standard, the actress expressed her passion for forming friendships, exploring new places, and preparing delicious meals.

“I also think I am fun to be around with. My mantra in life is you only live once, so enjoy every moment,” Sandra explained.

Sandra reflected on her challenging childhood, describing it as difficult due to her mother being a single parent who managed the family independently.

The actress also mentioned that she took on the responsibility of selling groundnuts in bars to help augment her mother’s earnings.

“The actor, Leonard Mambo Mbotela was one of my loyal customer. I used to make good money and I believe the whole experience shaped me to be the woman I am today,” she said.

In a previous interview, the actress candidly disclosed that she has endured the experience of being a rape survivor for the last 21 years.

Sandra stated that the harrowing event occurred when she was merely nine years old.

“I used to help my mum sell njugu from when I was in class two. I have never told anyone this, not even my family, but while I was in this business, I was raped. Someone took advantage of me while I was only nine years old and in class three,” she said.

While attempting to navigate her way after becoming getting lost in the park, she encountered her assailant.

The individual she approached proposed to provide her with shelter until the next morning.

“He took me to his wife and I was given a room where I slept on the floor but at night he would sneaked out of his wife’s room and came to defile me

“When morning came, he gave me Sh1000 and I went home but I developed some complications a few days later and had to be taken to hospital for treatment,” she emotionally said.

At the age of 33, she experienced the profound loss of her mother during her childhood, which necessitated frequent relocations due to challenging circumstances.

She managed to sustain herself through various temporary jobs before ultimately achieving recognition as a talented actress.

In 2020, Sandra disclosed that she resided in a mud house, paying Ksh 100 monthly, before transitioning to a house made of iron sheets, where her rent increased to Ksh 200.

Her initial television appearance was as an extra in a series titled The Hospital, produced by Zamaradi Production.

“I was so excited. From there, I started getting calls for different roles and that is how Aunty Boss came knocking,” she said.

Upon securing her role in Auntie Boss, she noted that film producer Lucy Mwangi discovered her at the Kenya National Theatre.

At that moment, Sandra elaborated that Mwangi was in search of a cast member with her physique.

“I am very comfortable with my body size and I always tell plus size women to love themselves. Through this, they will attract love in return,” she said.
