Kenyan Benga artist and a cop who is popularly known by his secular melodies has shared his real life story that motivated him to make the song ‘Mumbi’.
Evidently, Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh was at one point caught by the ladies father while attempting to allure her just like in the song ‘mumbi’.
The musician narrated saying,”The only thing I remembered was Sunday afternoon we used to go to o Mumbi’s place . His father was not always around and his mother would be in Catholic Association (C.A) and I will go with sugar. That very Sunday I did not go to church even if I went I would not grasp anything. Around noon I went into Sammy’s kitchen, took some sugar and cocoa and mixed it up, put it in a bag and ran out. I went through the corn. I threw stones at the door while I was hiding.”
The dad returned unexpectedly and he got caught.
