Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa delivers goodies to Mukuru Affordable tenants and says-“Safaricom will give all the tenants of Mukuru affordable housing free 1000/- airtime and 800/- WiFi subcription monthly!”

Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa has announced a major boost for tenants of the Mukuru Affordable Housing project, unveiling free monthly communication benefits aimed at easing their cost of living.

Speaking during a visit to the housing project, Ndegwa said Safaricom will provide all Mukuru affordable housing tenants with free KSh 1,000 airtime and an KSh 800 WiFi subscription every month.

“Safaricom will give all the tenants of Mukuru affordable housing free 1,000 shillings airtime and 800 shillings WiFi subscription monthly,” Ndegwa said.

The announcement was received with excitement by residents, many of whom said the initiative will help them stay connected for work, education, and business. The move aligns with Safaricom’s broader agenda of promoting digital inclusion, especially among low-income communities.

Ndegwa noted that access to affordable internet and communication services is essential in today’s economy, adding that the company is committed to supporting government-led housing initiatives by integrating digital connectivity.

The gesture has sparked positive reactions online, with Kenyans praising Safaricom for going beyond business to support social development. As tenants prepare to settle into the Mukuru Affordable Housing units, the added communication support is expected to make the transition smoother and more sustainable.
