Renowned Tanzanian singer Rose Muhando, predominantly based in Kenya and acclaimed as a gospel artist in East Africa, faced a significant controversy when it came to light that she had duped Kenyan pastors of over Ksh. 1 Million.
During an event, Ali Mukhwana took the stage to reveal the intricate scheme employed by Rose Muhando to deceive five pastors simultaneously.
As a close friend of Rose, Mukhwana had arranged for her participation in an event in Bungoma, for which Rose demanded Ksh. 200,000. The organizers wired the amount, confident that she would honor her commitment.
However, when Mukhwana posted the event promotion on his Facebook page, five different pastors approached him, asserting that Rose Muhando was slated to perform at their respective events on the same day and at the same time. Bewildered, Mukhwana contacted Rose and inquired about the conflicting events. Rose dismissively claimed it was merely showbiz, with others using her images to publicize their events.
Determined to uncover the truth, Mukhwana contacted the five pastors individually. Each pastor revealed that they had independently paid Rose Ksh. 200,000 to perform at their events, resulting in a total of Ksh. 1 Million received by Rose.
The events were scheduled to take place in Soi, Kilifi, Voi, Mariakani, and Bungoma simultaneously. Remarkably, Rose had managed to convince each pastor that she would be present at their event. Upon realizing that her deception had been uncovered, Rose Muhando chose to go silent.
Despite Mukhwana’s attempts to contact her, Rose responded, claiming to be unwell due to a private health issue. This fabricated excuse served as her means of disappearing with the money, leaving the pastors with failed events.
