‎RIP: Shock as Nairobi Taxi Driver Is Found Dead in Lodging After Brutally Killing a Married Woman

‎Residents of Kibomet in Kitale Town are reeling in shock and grief after a married woman was allegedly murdered by a Nairobi-based taxi driver who had been pursuing her romantically. The victim, 35-year-old Sally Sitawa Saenyi, was discovered dead in a lodging following the attack.

‎According to family sources, Patrick Silali Barasa, also known as Jeff, attacked Sally at her home on Saturday, the 23rd, after repeatedly seeking a relationship with her despite knowing she had been married for over 12 years.

‎Sally’s father revealed that his daughter had warned authorities about threats to her life, stating that Barasa had told her he would kill her if she continued to reject him. She had reported the threats to the police two days prior, but no preventive measures were taken, a failure her family now blames for the tragedy.

‎Barasa is said to have travelled from Nairobi to Kitale to carry out the attack, stabbing Sally multiple times twice in the neck and once in the back. Neighbours rushed her to Cherang’any Nursing Home, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

‎Police launched a search for Barasa, whose body was eventually found in a lodging in Moi’s Bridge Township, not far from the scene of the attack. Authorities confirmed his identity, and both bodies were taken to Wamalwa Kijana Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary.

‎The family is calling for justice and accountability, urging law enforcement to take early warnings seriously. The incident has reignited public discussions on the urgent need for police reforms to prevent such avoidable deaths.
