Police in Juja are investigating a deadly road accident where a Boda Boda operator lost his life after allegedly being hit by a Super Metro Limited bus.
The incident sparked chaos after fellow riders, angered by the accident, torched the bus moments after the driver fled the scene.
According to police reports, the bus was speeding before it rammed into the rider, who died on the spot. Officers rushed to the scene and moved the body of the deceased to the mortuary as investigations got underway.
Following the tragedy, Super Metro Limited issued a statement on X (formerly Twitter) sending condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. The company also assured the public that it would fully cooperate with police in the ongoing probe.

Meanwhile, Kenyans online have raised fresh concerns about Super Metro buses, citing several issues including:
- Overspeeding on major highways,
- Stopping in dangerous spots to pick and drop passengers,
- Overlapping in traffic,
- Complaints of rude drivers and conductors.
Many road users have urged the company to take responsibility and enforce stricter discipline among its drivers to prevent such tragedies in the future.
