Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that the anger of Generation Z protesters continues to weigh heavily on President William Ruto.

Speaking during a public address, Gachagua said he would not want to “carry the blood of Gen Z,” suggesting that the fallout from past youth-led protests is still affecting the country’s political leadership. He argued that the challenges currently facing the administration are linked to unresolved grievances raised by young people.

Gachagua further claimed that the President remains troubled by the events surrounding the protests, asserting that the political consequences have not faded.

His remarks come amid ongoing national conversations about governance, youth participation in politics, and the impact of recent demonstrations on Kenya’s political climate.

Political observers note that references to Gen Z protests continue to shape political narratives as leaders position themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election.
