Kenyan female rapper Wanjiku Kimani, popularly known as Femi One, has dismissed rumors that the renowned Kikuyu Akorino singer Hezeh Ndung’u is her father.
Speculation about Femi One being Hezeh Ndung’u’s daughter began circulating after a photo of the two together surfaced on social media. Netizens quickly seized the opportunity to joke about the situation, with many questioning how Femi One could be a secular artist given Hezeh Ndung’u’s strict religious background.
In a recent interview on the Mic Cheque podcast, Femi One expressed her bewilderment over the origin of the story, noting that many people seemed to believe it. The award-winning rapper clarified that she has no relation to the Akorino singer and remains surprised by how easily people can create and spread such stories.
Femi One revealed that her father’s name was Peter Kimani, who passed away some time ago.
Femi One has established herself in the music industry with her signature Sheng rap and the attitude necessary to dominate any hip-hop track. She has collaborated with numerous heavy-hitters in the industry, including Mejja, King Kaka, and Otile Brown, among others.
