Pastor Ephantus Safari reveals real reason Kawira left their 6-year marriage

Pastor Ephantus Safari has recently shared insights into the reasons behind the dissolution of his six-year marriage with former Papa Shirandula actress Joy Kawira. In a conversation with Massawe Japanni, Safari addressed several factors contributing to the end of their union.

Massawe initiated the interview by referencing Kawira’s previous claim of violence in their relationship. Safari responded, suggesting that his ex-wife might have portrayed him as an abuser as a means of seeking justification for her decision to leave. According to Safari, their life together was initially harmonious, and it was Kawira who eventually chose to end the marriage without providing a clear explanation.

Safari pinpointed a significant issue in their relationship as Kawira’s insistence on living with his mother. Initially, she lived with her own mother before Safari brought her into their shared residence. However, tensions arose when Kawira’s mother moved in with them. Safari proposed renting a separate house for his mother-in-law, but Kawira later sought another house, leading to them residing together once more.

The music producer disclosed that he has been unable to communicate with his children for nearly three years, as Kawira severed all contact. Despite sending financial support, he emphasized his longing to see his children and revealed his intention to pursue legal avenues to gain access to them.

Expressing frustration at unsuccessful attempts to reconnect with Kawira, Safari mentioned seeking legal assistance to resolve custody matters. He outlined his plan to engage a lawyer and navigate the legal process in the coming days to secure visitation rights.

Safari reminisced about his initial encounter with Kawira in 2013 while organizing an event at St Andrew’s. The couple exchanged vows in a vibrant wedding ceremony in 2014. However, Kawira, speaking on Radio Jambo in October 2022, attributed her decision to leave the marriage to alleged domestic violence. She expressed reservations about allowing Safari unsupervised access to their children, emphasizing the need for clarification before any such arrangement. Despite acknowledging Safari as her first love, Kawira cited a lack of connection as a contributing factor to their relationship’s failure.
