Speaking with journalists on Tuesday, Reuben Njuguna, the father of a man who was brutally murdered by his wife in Kirinyanga, shared the heartbreaking details of his last conversation with his son before the tragedy.
The grief-stricken father could barely hold back tears as he recounted the events leading up to his son’s death.
In a statement, Reuben narrated that he and his son had attended church together earlier in the day.
“We went to church in the morning, and everything was fine. In the evening, he came to me and said goodbye. I never imagined it would be the last time I would see him alive,” he said,
After saying farewell, his son went back to his home, unaware of the horrific fate that awaited him.
Reuben painfully described what happened when his son reached home. According to him, a confrontation erupted between his son and his wife.
The father revealed that this was not the first time his daughter-in-law had attacked his son.
“There was a time she tried to kill him before. She stabbed him in the chest, but luckily he survived. She was taken to the police station and later released. I never thought something like this could happen again,” he said.
Despite the deep sorrow, Reuben expressed hope that justice would be served.
“We are mourning the loss of our son. I hope the authorities will hold her accountable for what she did. My family is broken, and we cannot bring him back, but we want to see justice done,” he added.
