“Ningebeba Hiyo Kitu” TikToker David Moya Reacts After Losing Best Dancer of The Year Award

David Moya, a renowned Kenyan dancer celebrated for his unique dance style, has gained widespread recognition and a significant following as a prominent TikToker in his homeland. His captivating dance performances often take fans by surprise, with his preferred soundtrack often being the song “Mi amor” by Jovial ft. Mario.

Recently, David Moya broke his silence after missing out on a nomination for the coveted title of “Best Dancer of the Year.” Speaking to Mungai Eve at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport upon his return from Qatar, Moya confidently asserted that he considers himself the best dancer in the country, despite the absence of his name on the nomination list.

“In my view, dancing is not just a passion but my profession, and I believe that I am the best dancer of the year, not only in Kenya but anywhere,” he boldly proclaimed.

Moya went on to shed light on what might have transpired to lead to his omission from the list of nominees. He suggested that nominations often come as a surprise, and there’s a need for better communication in the process.

“Sometimes, when it comes to nominations, I find myself nominated without prior notice. When you nominate someone, you should inform them,” he emphasized.

Reflecting on past experiences, Moya recalled an instance when he was caught off guard by Pulse Awards, learning of his nomination just a day before the official announcement.

“I remember for the Pulse Awards, I was actually invited on the very last day, and I received a direct message saying, ‘You are supposed to come tomorrow.’ These nominations often take you by surprise because they should have a more official process,” he added.

Despite his disappointment, David Moya displayed sportsmanship by extending congratulations to all the deserving nominees who clinched victory in their respective categories.

“I may not understand the process entirely, but I would like to extend my congratulations to all those who emerged as winners,” he graciously acknowledged.

When pressed on what he would have done if he had been informed about his nomination in advance, Moya exuded confidence, asserting that he would have emerged as the undisputed champion.

“I would have owned it. Without a doubt, I would have owned it,” he declared with unwavering self-assurance.
