A video circulating online shows a visibly frustrated police officer burning his uniform at a dumpsite, expressing deep dissatisfaction with his work in the police force.
Dressed in civilian clothes, the officer first removed his belt before setting his blue police uniform ablaze with a lighter. He lamented the challenges he had faced during his six years of service, highlighting low pay, lack of promotion, and mounting personal responsibilities.
“I’ve been working at this position for six years. My wage is too low. I have both my father and my mother to care for. My health is not good, and my father is ill,” he stated in the footage.
The officer explained that he had attempted to resign but was unsuccessful, leading him to stop reporting to work. While he burned his uniform, he set aside his boots and belt, noting that he could still use them.
“This is too much. There is no difference between doing menial tasks, my buddy. I’m just bored of this job. I do not want this job,” he said.
The incident has raised questions about the working conditions, pay, and support systems for officers in the force, with the man’s grievances highlighting the strain faced by personnel tasked with demanding responsibilities.
