“Niliomba Atusamehe”: Terence Creative Shares Pain of Being Rebuked by Caretaker Lacking Rent

Terence Creative recently opened up about one of the most embarrassing moments he’s ever experienced. In a candid conversation with his wife, Milly Chebby, the content creator shared a story from the challenging times during the COVID-19 pandemic when he found himself unable to pay rent and faced humiliation from the caretaker.

According to Terence, he was short of Ksh 10,000 in rent during the pandemic and decided to ask the caretaker for some leniency. However, his request was met with harsh criticism and scolding. As a loyal tenant, he tried to explain his situation, pleading with the caretaker to forgive the deficit, but was instead dismissed with a cold response.

“My most embarrassing moment happened during the Corona pandemic when we didn’t have rent. I went to talk to the caretaker, asking him as a family man, ‘Please forgive us, even for this Ksh 10K, we’ve been such loyal tenants here,’” Terence recalled. To his surprise, the caretaker’s response was far from sympathetic.

The caretaker, brushing him off, rudely told him, “The whole world is closed, where am I supposed to get the money? You figure it out.”

Reflecting on the experience, Terence shared a valuable lesson. He advised people to be more understanding and compassionate toward those in need, and not to judge or embarrass others in their moments of vulnerability.

“Give people a chance. Don’t judge them. Listen to them. Even a mad person should be listened to. As humans, you should understand that things often won’t go the way you want them to,” Terence concluded. His story serves as a reminder to treat others with kindness and empathy, especially during difficult times.
