Niliambia mabinti zangu ukizaa nakufukuza – Ng’ang’a

Pastor James Maina Ng’ang’a of Neno Evangelical Church recently surprised his congregation by sharing his unconventional views on not wanting grandchildren. In a viral video from one of his sermons, Ng’ang’a elaborated on the challenges of raising daughters and how parents must be vigilant to prevent them from being drawn into worldly temptations.

He revealed that during his daughters’ upbringing, he made it clear that if any of them were to get pregnant, they would no longer be allowed to live in his home. However, he clarified that this stance did not mean he would abandon them entirely, but rather he would offer support from a distance. Ng’ang’a explained that he personally does not want grandchildren, as he himself is already one.

“I told my daughters, if you have a child, it’s outside my home. We’ll greet each other with a handshake, and I’ll help you from a distance. But raising your child in my house? Grandchildren? Whose grandchildren? I don’t want grandchildren because I am a grandchild myself,” he remarked.

Ng’ang’a stressed that allowing his daughters to raise children under his roof would be incompatible with his faith. He implied that doing so might mean he is not truly committed to his salvation.

“Maybe it means I’m not saved. I wouldn’t be saved. But if you manage your life well, I’ll welcome you. If you have a husband, that’s fine, but don’t bring a child into my house. That’s just my personal conviction, not God’s,” he added.
