Nani atalipa? Mulamwah charging Sh. 100M for his son’s face reveal

Kenyan nurse turned digital content creator and comedian, David Oyando, widely recognized as Mulamwah, has recently taken an unconventional approach regarding the revelation of his newborn son’s face. In a move that raised eyebrows, Mulamwah declared that interested parties would need to part with a substantial sum, amounting to millions of shillings, to catch a glimpse of his infant.

This development has reignited discussions on the eccentricity often exhibited by Kenyan content creators and social media figures. It brings to mind the reminiscent situation when Eric Omondi and his partner, Lynne, attempted a similar tactic last year, asserting a charge of Sh. 50 Million for their daughter’s face unveiling. Ironically, they eventually shared the images on social media without any solicitation from the public.

The trend continued with Amber Ray, who urged people to subscribe to a paid video viewing platform for the revelation of her daughter’s face. Nevertheless, the images of Africanah Rapudo, Ray’s daughter, inundated the media despite the initial subscription requirement.

Undeterred by the experiences of his predecessors, Mulamwah is determined to chart a different course. During a recent interview, the comedian conveyed his intention to approach the situation uniquely. He hinted at a potential charge of Sh100 million for his son’s face reveal.

“The face reveal will occur at the opportune moment… perhaps we will set the price at Sh100 million, but rest assured, we will handle things differently,” affirmed the father of two.

Mulamwah emphasized the absence of a definitive guide to navigating celebrity status, emphasizing his commitment to enjoying life on his terms. “There is no marking scheme to being a celebrity; just do what you believe is right and enjoy yourself, and those fans will be happy with you,” commented the comedian.

Mulamwah and his wife, Ruth K, joyfully announced the birth of their son on February 10, 2024. Subsequently, they inaugurated an Instagram page for the newborn, introducing him to the public as Oyando Junior or Kalamwah.
