Nairobi’s Pastor’s wife divorces huzy for their bestman

A Nairobi-based pastor, Gilbert Manyasi, has left many Kenyans heartbroken after sharing the painful story of how his once promising marriage collapsed under shocking circumstances.

Pastor Manyasi recalled how he first met a woman who seemed perfect for him — deeply rooted in Christianity, active in church, and serving in the praise and worship team. To him, Brenda was the kind of woman he had always prayed for.

The two fell in love, began dating, and often visited one another to keep their bond strong. Their future looked bright as they dreamt of eventually becoming husband and wife.

The First Signs of Trouble

However, in 2019, things took a painful turn. Manyasi narrated how one evening Brenda came to visit him, and while they were together, her phone rang. She ignored the call, but when Manyasi later checked her messages, he was shocked.

He found a conversation between Brenda and another man who called her “babe” and expressed how much he missed her. The messages left him devastated.

When he confronted her, Brenda refused to discuss the matter and chose to go to bed. By the next morning, she had left the house. She later returned after three days, accompanied by her brother-in-law, to collect some of her belongings. At that point, Manyasi believed the relationship had ended.

Her Sudden Return — With a Pregnancy

Three months later, Brenda unexpectedly came back, claiming she was pregnant with his child. Despite not knowing where she had been during that time, Pastor Manyasi welcomed her back and accepted the child, acknowledging that they had been intimate before the breakup.

Life gradually returned to normal. Manyasi continued his ministry work and even opened his own church. Their relationship grew stronger, and in December 2021, they officially wedded.

Marriage and New Beginnings

Their early marriage was peaceful. They were a happy family of three, and Manyasi encouraged Brenda to improve her life through education. She enrolled in a short course in 2022 and successfully secured a job as a sales agent after completing her studies.

But according to Pastor Manyasi, everything changed the moment Brenda started working.

“That’s When the Problems Began”

He alleges that Brenda started staying out late without explanation, returning home at odd hours and frequently denying him conjugal rights. Her dressing style changed as well, and she began interacting closely with other men, insisting they were “just friends.”

Concerned, Manyasi sought help from their best couple, hoping mediation would bring peace. But the situation worsened when Brenda accused him of physically abusing her.

Surprisingly, the best couple took Brenda’s side and demanded that Pastor Manyasi apologise.

“She claimed I never paid rent or bought food, and that I would beat her daily if she failed to take care of bills. She even said I threatened to kill her,” he recounted.

Despite insisting the claims were false, he apologised — even calling Brenda’s parents to seek forgiveness for allegedly demanding dowry.

Marriage Falls Apart Completely

Still, the marriage did not heal. Brenda began sleeping in the sitting room and stopped attending her husband’s church altogether.

When asked why she was no longer serving in the church, she allegedly claimed that her husband locked her inside the house and ordered her not to attend services.

A few weeks later, Brenda packed her belongings, took their child, and moved into the home of their best man. According to Manyasi, the best man’s wife worked in another county, leaving Brenda alone in the house with him.

That is allegedly where their romantic relationship began.

Pastor’s Desperate Plea Ignored

Feeling betrayed and heartbroken, Pastor Manyasi reached out to the pastor who officiated their wedding to report what was happening. Instead of receiving support, he says he was dismissed.

“He told me they were busy with other matters and advised me to speak to the best man directly,” Manyasi said.

A Story That Has Shocked Many

His emotional account has stirred intense debate online, with many sympathising with the pastor for the betrayal, while others argue that both sides of the story should be heard.

For now, Pastor Manyasi continues to share his experience in hopes that other couples can learn from his painful journey.
