Police have launched an investigation following the death of a pregnant woman who collapsed and died on the road in the Korogocho slums of Nairobi.
The incident took place on the night of Sunday, August 11, 2024.
Witnesses reported that the woman had visited a local chemist seeking relief for stomach cramps. The chemist provided her with a painkiller and recommended that she visit a clinic for further medical evaluation.
Shortly after leaving the chemist, the woman collapsed just a few meters away and died on the spot. Residents immediately notified the police, who arrived at the scene to find her body lying on the road.
The body has been transported to the city mortuary for an autopsy as investigations continue.
