Murang’a Hero Kenneth Matiba Honoured In Nairobi.

Kenneth Matiba has been honored in Nairobi after the famous Accra road was renamed after him by the Nairobi County government.

Kenneth Stanley Njindo Matiba was born in June 1,1932 and grew up in Murang’a County and in early the 80s joined politics.

In 1992,he came second in the presidential elections. Notably, Matiba was held without trial at the Kamiti Maximum Prison in 1990 with Charles Rubia for opposing the Moi Regime.

In 1992-1997, Matiba was elected as the Mbiri Constituency Member of Parliament. After retiring from politics in 2010, he released an Autobiography titled Aiming High.

Stanley Matiba died on April 15,2018 at the Karen Hospital after a long time illness. He was the husband to Edith Matiba and a father of 5.

Being among the champions of a multiparty democracy, Matiba has been honored today after decades.
