MC B. Gathuba Man, a cherished icon among listeners of Kameme FM, bid farewell on Tuesday, March 26, marking the conclusion of a remarkable decade-long journey with the station.
Renowned for his infectious enthusiasm, vibrant persona, and profound connection with his audience, Gathuba Man, also known as Brian Gathuba, leaves behind a legacy adorned with unforgettable moments and sincere interactions.
Sharing his sentiments on his Facebook account, Gathuba Man expressed profound gratitude for the ten years he spent at Kameme FM. He fondly recollected his modest beginnings as a young and inexperienced producer, acknowledging the support and guidance he received along his path.
“Today marks the end of my tenure at Kameme. I am genuinely thankful for the opportunities I’ve had over the past decade. I joined Kameme as a young, inexperienced producer, uncertain of what the future held,” he shared on his Facebook profile.
He further remarked, “I take pride today in stating that I never belittled any opportunity that came my way, no matter how insignificant it seemed; I gave my utmost dedication.”
Throughout his tenure, Gathuba Man left an indelible mark on the airwaves, captivating audiences with his diverse blend of reggae and mugithi music, engaging commentary, and boundless enthusiasm.
Hailing from Ndemu village in Kiambu County, Gathuba Man’s journey to success was driven by his fervent passion for the entertainment industry. Despite initial opposition from his parents, who envisioned a teaching career for him, Gathuba Man pursued his aspirations with unwavering determination.
He attended Kambaa and Bathi primary schools before completing his studies at Kijabe Boys High School with commendable results in his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
Undeterred by challenges, Gathuba Man surpassed expectations by enrolling at Nairobi Aviation College as a journalism student. It was there that he refined his skills and laid the groundwork for his future endeavors in broadcasting.
