Atommy Sifa’s Skin Transformation In 2008, the Homa Bay-based superstar underwent a skin transformation, which remarkably altered his appearance. Over a decade later, social media users continue to criticize him for this choice.
Atommy Sifa’s statements on the Facebook Group True Luos led to backlash. The ensuing vitriol would even humble the most unyielding of individuals. Responding to the barrage of criticism, Atommy Sifa shared:
“Focus on your own life and your family’s well-being, instead of expending energy to berate Atommy Sifa. Shame on you… I’m financially comfortable and thoroughly enjoying my life. If my words sound unfamiliar, it’s because you’re unfamiliar with the English language. Shame on you once more… I possess the means to do as I please with my own body. Refrain from meddling in my affairs; even if I have undergone skin lightening, I haven’t prevented you from doing the same.”
The artist refuted claims that his mother opposed his decision to bleach his skin, clarifying that she passed away when he was merely two years old, and his father died when he was only eleven.
Atommy Sifa’s Controversies In 2017, Atommy Sifa defied political norms by composing a song in praise of Uhuru Kenyatta. The track, “Uhuru Nyale” (Uhuru is capable), stood as a bold stance in a region that predominantly supported opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Atommy recounted an incident where his shop was attacked by thugs who aimed to teach him a lesson for supporting the former Prime Minister. He expressed at the time:
“I take this opportunity to publicly apologize to Raila and the entire Luo community. I want them to comprehend that my intentions were pure and I was solely seeking to make a living…”
Atommy claimed he received only KSh 40,000 out of the promised KSh 500,000 from the Jubilee regime for the song.
