A man who mysteriously disappeared from his home for 47 years has expressed his disappointment upon discovering that both of his wives have remarried.
Peter Oyuka, originally from Makale village, found himself pondering why his two wives couldn’t exercise a bit more patience during his nearly five-decade-long absence. The 84-year-old man, who vanished from the village in 1974 at the age of 37, has recently returned home, and his return has been nothing short of bittersweet.
Oyuka lamented, “I wish my wives were here today to welcome me home.” Speaking to the local media, he urged his estranged wives to find time to connect with him, saying, “I wish my two wives well in their current marriages. Nevertheless, I want them to be aware that I’m still alive, and I’d appreciate it if they could make time to visit me.”
While he spent a portion of his 47-year absence in Tanzania, where he fell in love and had a child with another woman, Oyuka had hoped that his original marriages would remain intact. He admitted, “I’m deeply disappointed that they couldn’t hold out for me, but I respect their decisions.”
