As the country was busy celebrating the Mashujaa day, a man in Mbooni, Makueni County is said to have raped his 90-year-old mother before going into hiding.
According to reports, the elderly woman was found in bed writhering in pain by her eldest son.
The sleuths have launched a manhunt for the 45-year-old suspect who allegedly raped her mother inside her bedroom at 8pm on that fateful day.
“She tearfully narrated her harrowing ordeal in the hands of her younger son Patrick Mumo, 45, who forced his way into her bedroom at around 8:00 pm as she slept and subjected her to the beastly act,” the statement read in part.
The report also went on to state that the lady was rushed to the Kisau Sub-county hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
Confirming the allegations, doctors at the facility affirmed that the lady was indeed raped.
The DCI sleuths have sent a stern warning to the suspect identified as Paul Mumo Ngenge to give himself in before they intensify their hunt.
