Lawyer Fanya Mambo Kinuthia Shares Details About Jeff Koinange’s Alleged Sacking From Media

Lawyer Fanya Mambo Kinuthia has spoken out to address ongoing rumours about the absence of celebrated journalist Jeff Koinange from his usual TV and radio duties at Royal Media Services (RMS).

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Kinuthia dismissed claims circulating online that Koinange had been fired or removed from his shows due to alleged misconduct.

“Kenya is full of unfounded rumours. I have sat on a show with Jeff on Hot 96 breakfast every Tuesday from 7am to 8am. This I have done for almost two years. Our good friend Jeff Koinange was never fired. He was not kicked out for being drunk on set as some people allege,” wrote Kinuthia.

The lawyer further revealed that it has been nearly two months since they last co-hosted The Docket segment together, adding that he, too, misses Koinange’s presence on air.

“Believe you me, he was never fired,” he emphasized.

Jeff Koinange, one of Kenya’s most prominent media figures, has been noticeably absent from both Hot 96 and Citizen TV, where he hosts the popular Jeff Koinange Live (JKL) show.

His continued silence on social media has only fueled speculation among fans eager to know what happened. However, Kinuthia’s remarks now offer the first insider reassurance that Koinange’s absence is not related to disciplinary issues, but possibly a personal or professional matter yet to be disclosed.

Neither Koinange nor Royal Media Services has issued an official statement regarding the situation.

Known for his deep voice, charisma, and bold interviewing style, Jeff Koinange remains a household name in Kenya’s media industry, with an illustrious career spanning CNN, K24, and Citizen TV.
