Kenyan Woman Who Left the Country to Marry a Mzungu Man from England Regrets Decision, Reveals Reasons

Tess Ogamba, a Kenyan content creator, has opened up about the pain she endured in her marriage to an English man. What began as a promising love story turned into a deeply traumatic experience, leaving her with regrets about leaving Kenya for a life abroad.

Ogamba met her husband online, where their friendship quickly blossomed into romance. His consistent communication and heartfelt gestures convinced her of his commitment. After months of daily video calls, he traveled to Kenya, and the couple married. Ogamba then moved to England, ready to start a new chapter.

However, the reality of marriage soon shattered her expectations. While the initial months were blissful, the relationship took a dark turn as her husband began crossing boundaries, subjecting her to verbal and emotional abuse.

“He made me feel unsafe and depressed. I had to take medication for panic attacks and depression,” Ogamba shared, reflecting on how the constant mistreatment eroded her self-esteem.

The abuse escalated to the point where she sought help from the police. Her husband was arrested, but the ordeal left her homeless. “I was put in a hotel for two days by the police before I started looking for a place to stay,” she recounted, expressing how the experience set her back significantly.

Now, Ogamba describes the marriage as a devastating chapter that took a toll on her mental and emotional health. As she works to rebuild her life, she hopes her story serves as a cautionary tale about the challenges of pursuing love abroad without fully understanding the risks involved.
