New details have emerged about Mogesa, a Kenyan national who had previously lived and worked in Qatar before later signing a contract with the Russian Armed Forces.
Reports indicate that after leaving Qatar, he enlisted and was assigned to one of Russia’s assault units. The development has raised concerns about the recruitment of foreign nationals into active combat roles.
It has also been revealed that Mogesa was carrying passports belonging to two other Kenyan citizens, believed to be fellow recruits. The passports are suspected to belong to individuals Russia may be preparing to deploy in future military operations.
The situation has sparked questions about how Kenyan nationals are being recruited into foreign armed forces and whether proper oversight mechanisms are in place.
Authorities are yet to issue comprehensive statements regarding the matter, as attention grows over the safety and welfare of citizens involved in overseas military engagements.
