Jomo Kenyatta International Airport 1E Terminal closed after Fire incident on Monday, March 25

On Monday, March 25, Terminal 1E at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, JKIA, was closed temporarily due to a fire incident. The Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) attributed the fire to an electrical fault, as stated in a press release.

Fortunately, prompt action contained the situation, ensuring there were no injuries or casualties. As a precautionary measure, power supply to the terminal has been turned off temporarily.

Until further notice, all incoming flight operations have been rerouted to Terminal 1A, according to KAA.

This incident recalls a similar occurrence four years ago at check-in counters 7 and 8 in Terminal 1C.
