Renowned investigative journalist turned politician Mohammed Ali, popularly known as Jicho Pevu, has publicly endorsed Embakasi East MP Babu Owino as the next political kingpin of the Luo community.
In a bold statement that has since gone viral on social media, Jicho Pevu expressed strong confidence in Babu’s leadership, saying the youthful MP represents the new generation of Luo leadership.
“Babu Owino is the next kingpin of Luo Nyanza. Round hii sisi ndio tuko,” Jicho Pevu declared, signaling a shift in political alliances within the region.
His statement comes at a time when the Luo community is still adjusting to the political transition following the passing of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, who for decades served as the region’s unifying figure and national icon.
