Political commentator JB Muturi has questioned the effectiveness of President William Ruto’s cash distribution programs for young people, criticizing the manner in which funds are being disbursed.
Muturi highlighted what he sees as unnecessary theatrics, noting that the President has been observed dancing on podiums during events to hand out KSh 22,000 to youth beneficiaries. He suggested a simpler, more efficient alternative. “Why don’t you send it to them via Mpesa instead? Putting them through unreasonable trainings that cost more than you give them!” Muturi said, emphasizing the financial and logistical burden placed on the youth.
The remarks underscore concerns among observers about the administration’s youth empowerment initiatives, particularly regarding the cost-effectiveness and implementation of the programs.
