Ugandan pastor Prophet Samuel Kakande has recently caused quite a stir within his congregation with an unusual request. In a surprising move, he has asked each member to contribute KSh39,000 towards the purchase of a Range Rover, a luxury SUV priced at KSh10 million.
Prophet Kakande made this appeal through advertisements, urging his church members to support the acquisition of the vehicle. While some have viewed this request as unconventional or even audacious, others within the congregation have responded positively, believing that investing in their leader’s well-being will bring blessings upon themselves.
The announcement was delivered by Prophet Kakande through a video message, setting a deadline of April 14, 2024, for the contributions. He expressed, “All those who love Prophet Kakande, listen to this. He wants to buy a new vehicle. We have all agreed to buy this new vehicle. It is a Range Rover. It is just a simple vehicle, you have seen (it).”
Moreover, Prophet Kakande assured his followers that their contributions would not go unnoticed, promising that each member involved in the blessing would receive a new vehicle in the same year. He stated, “Each of us will contribute $300 because God will do wonders for us. We are bringing this money on April 14, 2024. All those that get involved in this blessing, we are all buying new vehicles this year.”
According to Kakande, the KSh39,000 donation is not merely a financial transaction but an investment in their spiritual well-being. He emphasized the reciprocal nature of the investment, declaring, “You invest in mine, and may God invest in yours.”
For those abroad, an option to contribute $300 was presented, with Kakande offering to send a prayer card for the vehicle blessing in return.
