President William Ruto has confidently defended his government’s track record, outlining several development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Kenyans.
Dr. Ruto has emphasized that the success of his government’s bottom-up economic model (BETA) proves that his policies are working as intended.
“The Bottom-Up development policy is not just a slogan but a reality because it is transforming the lives of Kenyans across the country day by day,”he said.
Listing his administration’s achievements, President Ruto confidently stated, “I’m busy delivering, and my work will earn me two terms.”
The President highlighted his administration’s achievements in health, agriculture, education, trade, and the blue economy, all contributing to improved livelihoods for citizens.
He noted that since his government took office on September 13, 2022, inflation has significantly dropped as of May 2025.
Additionally, the Kenyan shilling has strengthened from KSh 162 per US dollar in October 2022 to KSh 129 currently, reducing production and business costs.
Ruto also credited the government’s subsidized fertilizer program for slashing agricultural input costs by 50%, leading to increased production of maize, tea, and coffee benefiting farmers and boosting food self-sufficiency.
On dairy farming, the President praised reforms that have increased the price paid to farmers from KSh 35 to KSh 50 per liter of milk, enhancing their incomes.
President Ruto also celebrated progress in the affordable housing program (AHP), having recently handed over 1,080 houses to residents in Mukuru, Nairobi, as well as homes in Homa Bay and Kisumu.
More houses are expected to be delivered soon in Nakuru, Migori, Kakamega, Vihiga, Nandi, and Nanyuki counties.
He announced plans to present a bill to Parliament allowing taxpayers to access loans of up to KSh 5 million to purchase these affordable homes.
