Mugithi artist Samuel Muchoki, popularly known as Samidoh, has recently declared his single status, strongly suggesting a separation from his baby mama, Karen Nyamu.
In a live video, Samidoh jovially admitted to being polygamous in the past but affirmed that he is presently unattached, laughing as he made the statement.
“I used to be polygamous, but now I am single,” chuckled Samidoh during the live session.
Adding to the revelation, Samidoh disclosed that he had blocked Karen Nyamu from his contacts, stating, “Ako kwa block list” (She is on the block list).
This declaration follows Samidoh dismissing Karen Nyamu’s involvement in his receipt of a State commendation, shutting down suggestions that the UDA-nominated senator played a role in him being honored with the Head of State Commendation (HSC) by President William Ruto.
Responding to comments on social media, Samidoh sarcastically suggested that Karen Nyamu should have pursued her own HSC before assisting him in obtaining his.
“@hellennjokimwangi86 hehe si angetafuta yake kwanza?” (Hehe, shouldn’t she have sought hers first?) Samidoh responded.
Notably, the singer and Karen Nyamu recently unfollowed each other on Instagram, hinting at possible strains in their relationship.
Edday Nderitu, Samidoh’s wife, parted ways with him due to conflicts with Karen Nyamu. The discord between Edday and the UDA-nominated senator escalated during an altercation at a Dubai club on December 17, 2022, where they clashed over Samidoh’s behavior.
Following the incident, Karen Nyamu announced her breakup with Samidoh and pledged to avoid drama in 2023. However, the two were seen together again on February 23, 2023, during the burial of Gachagua’s sister-in-law Nancy Muthoni in Gatanga, Murang’a county.
This reignited tensions between Edday and Samidoh, leading Edday to express her frustration on Facebook, indicating a possible separation due to her unwillingness to raise her children in a polygamous marriage.
Despite Edday’s concerns, Samidoh and Karen Nyamu continued to make public appearances together, including at the burial of the singer’s nephew Geoffrey Mwathi in Nakuru on March 8, 2023.
In early May 2023, Edday and her three children relocated to the US. On July 22, 2023, she clarified on social media that she was not in a polygamous marriage and had left her husband for whoever needed him more.
