I was a millionaire, I sold my house, cars & land to sponsor my girlfriend abroad but later she dumped me – Man cries out

A Tanzanian man, Suleiman Haussian, shared his heartbreaking story of being left destitute after his long-term girlfriend, whom he had supported financially and made wealthy, ended their relationship. Suleiman revealed that he spent his life savings sponsoring her education in Canada, only for her to return, break up with him, and later invite him to her wedding with another man.

Sacrificing Everything for Love

Suleiman narrated that he met his ex-girlfriend, Aisha, when she was still a high school student. After completing her education, Aisha’s family arranged for her to study abroad in Canada in 2008.

“We had a plan,” Suleiman explained. “After she graduated, she would return to Tanzania, and we would get married.” Confident in their future together, he supported her emotionally and financially when her family ran into difficulties.

Initially, Suleiman covered her tuition fees for the first and second years and regularly sent her money to help her survive in Canada. At the time, he was a successful businessman running his family’s hardware shops, which provided him with a steady income. “I was proud to support her education,” he said, believing that his investment would secure their shared future.

Selling Everything to Save Her Future

Things took a turn when Aisha found herself burdened with significant financial debts. According to Suleiman, Aisha called him in tears, desperate and afraid of dropping out due to a debt of 10 million Tanzanian shillings. Determined to save her, Suleiman sold most of his inheritance, including his house, car, land, and shops, raising 50 million shillings.

“I even met with her parents, who were devastated that they couldn’t help their daughter,” he recounted. “I assured them not to worry, as I had everything under control. I gave them the money to clear her debts, believing it was a worthy sacrifice for our future together.”

The Shocking Betrayal

In total, Suleiman estimates that he spent over 400 million Tanzanian shillings on Aisha’s education, living expenses, and debts. However, after completing her studies, Aisha returned to Tanzania and began avoiding him.

“At first, I thought she just needed time to adjust,” Suleiman said. “I hoped she would come to her senses and acknowledge my sacrifices, but she drifted further away. Eventually, she ended things with me completely and moved on with another man.”

To make matters worse, Aisha invited Suleiman to her wedding, where she married someone else she had fallen in love with. The betrayal left Suleiman devastated and in financial ruin.

“It was unimaginable. I sold my house, car, and land for her, and this is how she repaid me. You hurt my heart, Aisha,” he said tearfully.

Losing Everything: Family Warnings Ignored

Suleiman admitted that his family had warned him about trusting women with his money, but he refused to listen. Frustrated with his decisions, his family withdrew their support and eventually removed him from the family business.

“My family realized I was being foolish, so they stopped helping me. They kicked me out of the business, and I was left with nothing,” he said. Now, Suleiman survives by collecting and selling plastic bottles to meet his basic needs.

A Cautionary Tale

Suleiman’s story serves as a cautionary tale about the risks of blind trust and sacrifice in relationships. Despite his good intentions, his actions left him financially broken and emotionally scarred.

“I believed our love was unbreakable, but some people are made differently,” Suleiman reflected. His experience highlights the importance of balance in relationships and the dangers of sacrificing everything without clear commitment and mutual effort.

For Suleiman, the lessons learned came at a great cost, but he hopes his story will inspire others to tread cautiously when it comes to love and finances.
