Radio presenter, Maina Kageni, has left people talking after he said that his daily budget is Ksh 10,000, even as a large number of Kenyans struggle to make ends meet.
Maina was answering a viral story where two women in their 20s were arrested and taken to court for failing to pay a bill of Ksh 147,000 in Nairobi.
He defended the women and said it’s unfortunate that they are being charged yet they didn’t drink alone.
He boasted that he is an expert in fine dining and claimed that the ladies were in the company of some men who ran away and left them to foot the bill.
“I am an expert in fine dining. They did not drink that money alone. It is the men who ran away.
“Women, are these the kind of men you are going to marry?
In the event that you take a lady out, man up. There is a spot I go and the cost of 3 samosas is 2K. I budget for 10K every day,” Maina said.
As per Kageni, such ways of behaving are normal with Kikuyu men, whom he depicted as stingy.
“Those might be Kikuyu men, they are usually so stingy. Mimi if I call you for lunch/dinner I am paying.
You cannot call me for lunch and start dictating what I will eat or drink,” he added
