Shock has rocked Maseno University after a first-year student, identified only as Diana, claimed she has deliberately infected fellow students and lecturers with HIV.
In a disturbing confession shared on Facebook, Diana revealed that since joining the institution in 2017, she has had sexual encounters with at least 273 students and three lecturers, all without disclosing her HIV-positive status. She further vowed to raise this number to 1,000 by the time she completes her studies.
According to her post, Diana contracted the virus from her neighbor shortly after completing high school. Filled with bitterness, she decided that she would not suffer alone. “I should not be the only one carrying this burden,” she wrote, admitting that deliberately infecting others has become her coping mechanism.
Despite her striking beauty and normal social life on campus, she has allegedly left a trail of broken lives. When confronted by some of her victims, Diana simply asks: “Did I force you?”
She even hinted at plans to release a list of the people she has already infected. For now, she claims to find comfort in watching her peers depend on ARV medication just like her.
Her shocking confession has left many questioning how such cases can be prevented in learning institutions where risky behavior is common.
