New details have emerged with regards to how Mwangi Wa Iria was shattered from joining DP Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance party. It is said that he got a call from a strong government official threatening him incase he joined DP Ruto. The call threatened stirring probe into the matter following illegally acquired property.
“Don’t try to create funny stories around me by trying to appear to get my views. I’ll sue you. Don’t waste my time. Whatever reports you cook, you go ahead and eat. I dont want nonsense at all,” said Mwangi Wa Iria
Mwangi Wa Iria said that after he threatened joining DP Ruto, detectives had begun following him. It is said that he was even threatened that detectives were in his compound ready to arrest him.
This is the difficult situation his political plans were providing him until he decided to change minds. Mwangi Wa Iria was prosecuted by EACC over the graft case but denied the charges.
