Ibrahim Onami, a Kenyan man who is well-known as a TikTok and YouTube personality, recently shared his shocking story of how he landed a high-paying mortuary job in the United States. He explained that he left Kenya in search of work to support himself and his family back home. When he arrived in the US, he was willing to take on any job that was offered to him.
The first job that he found was at one of the largest morgues in the country. His responsibilities included taking care of the corpses, removing them from the refrigerators, cremating the bodies, and then safely storing the ashes. Despite the gruesome nature of the job, it paid well, with Ibrahim earning a hourly rate of KSH 8,000. In addition, he was also offered free cremation when he dies, a house near the morgue, and two vacations per year to allow him to relax.
Although the job paid well, it also presented many challenges. The working environment was not for the faint of heart, and despite persevering, Ibrahim ultimately decided to quit the job after a while. He realized that while the money was good, the working conditions were not something he could handle long-term.
