A surprising incident unfolded at a local school in Bungoma, where a 50-year-old headteacher, known as Mr. Mukheshi (pseudonym), left both his staff and students bewildered on Tuesday evening. Instead of being a sanctuary of knowledge, the school library underwent an unexpected transformation into a lodging.
The unusual event occurred when a parent, accompanied by a friend, visited the school to obtain a copy of her daughter’s birth certificate for the ongoing class eight registration. The deputy directed her to the library to meet the headteacher while her friend waited on a bench.
As time passed, the waiting friend, named Mary, grew increasingly impatient. Unable to contain her curiosity, she decided to search for her friend and found her in a compromising situation with the headteacher, with their clothes scattered on the floor. Shocked, Mary exclaimed in Swahili, “Hii ndio kitu mnafanya apa na Mimi nakungoja nje?” (Is this what you are doing while I patiently wait outside?)
Mary’s outcry drew the attention of other teachers, who rushed to the scene and discovered the two individuals hastily trying to put on their clothes. Expressing her displeasure, Mary questioned the headteacher’s actions, asking, “Huyu mother nampatia mtoto wake aibu gani hii?” (What shame is this that you bring to your child?)
To defuse the situation, teachers intervened, dismissing the pupils and escorting the two embarrassed parents to the school gate. Shortly after the incident, the headteacher reportedly left the school premises on his motorbike.
Inside sources disclosed that this was not an isolated occurrence, indicating that the headteacher had been engaging in such behavior for some time. It seems that he has now faced the consequences of his actions.
