Kenyan gospel artist Betty Bayo has passed away after a long battle with blood cancer, leaving her fans and family heartbroken. The singer, known for her inspirational songs and strong faith, leaves behind two young children, whose future and care have now become a major concern.
In the days leading up to her death, several of Betty’s old social media posts resurfaced and went viral. On October 19, she reflected on how people often speak kindly about others only after they die. A day later, she shared a hopeful message saying her followers would live to see 2026, and in another post, she declared that “rest in peace” would not be their portion in 2025.
Fans have interpreted these posts as a possible premonition of her own passing. Many Kenyans online expressed shock and sorrow, suggesting that Betty may have been silently revealing her emotional pain and fears as she battled her illness.
Following her death, attention has shifted to the care of her children. Her ex-husband, Pastor Victor Kanyari, was seen comforting their daughter, Sky, after confirming the heartbreaking news.
Questions have also been raised about the role of her husband, Gitau, who is reportedly based in the United States and has a family there. However, legal and practical responsibility for the children now rests with their biological father, Pastor Kanyari.
