Hatutaki Akothee Huku! ACK Bishop Chases Away Akothee from Attending Talent Show at Ng’iya Girls High School

Controversial artist Esther Akothee recently found herself in the midst of a heated debate surrounding her slated role as the keynote speaker at a talent show held at Ng’iya Girls High School in Siaya County.

However, the much-anticipated event encountered potential cancellation due to apprehensions voiced by alumni, members of the public, and the local ACK bishop, all of whom questioned her suitability as a role model for the students.

The choice to withdraw Akothee as a speaker reportedly stemmed from a WhatsApp message that was shared by the President of Single Mothers. This message unveiled the ACK bishop’s discomfort with Akothee’s involvement in the event.

The bishop’s reservations triggered a meeting between the school’s principal, Madam Hellen, and the bishop himself. It appears that during this meeting, it was unequivocally communicated that Akothee’s participation would not be welcomed.

“We regrettably have to cancel the event due to the ACK bishop’s reservations. Their visit to the school, especially their interaction with Principal Madam Hellen, left us with no alternative,” the screenshot conveyed.

In response to this turn of events, Akothee took to her social media platforms to express her gratitude to Madam Hellen, the school’s principal. She extended her appreciation for the kindness and support Madam Hellen had demonstrated in the past, particularly during Akothee’s visit to Sinyolo Girls, where she had witnessed Madam Hellen’s unwavering commitment to assisting the less fortunate.

Akothee commended Madam Hellen’s new charitable foundation within Ngiya Girls High School, recognizing its potential to positively impact numerous lives and enhance the institution’s global recognition.

Notwithstanding the event’s cancellation, Akothee underscored her ongoing dedication to championing charitable causes that bring about positive societal change. She vowed to continue her support for such initiatives, even from her current standpoint, and conveyed her gratitude for the kindness and faith Madam Hellen had displayed toward her.

Despite her removal from the event’s lineup, Akothee maintained an optimistic outlook and pledged to persist in backing any cause that fosters a positive influence on society. She acknowledged the bishop’s concerns and emphasized the significance of praying for each other as fellow imperfect individuals, aspiring to cross paths in a better place someday.
