Girl Who Moved to the UK as a Cleaner speaks How She makes Up to Half a Million monthly

As unemployment rates in many African countries continue to rise, countless individuals are leaving their home nations in pursuit of better opportunities abroad. Countries like the United Kingdom are often seen as lands of promise, offering higher wages, improved working conditions, and enhanced job security.

One such individual is Mimi Ace, a Nigerian woman who relocated to the UK with her family after struggling to secure stable employment in her home country. Sharing her journey on her YouTube channel, Mimi described how she juggles multiple jobs and family responsibilities while earning a substantial income.

Mimi’s primary job is in domiciliary care. She works five days a week, Monday through Friday, for six hours a day. This amounts to a total of 30 hours per week or approximately 120 hours per month. Mimi disclosed that her monthly earnings from this role average £1,040 (about KSh 192,140). “The least I’ve made is £1,040, but on months when I work more, I’ve earned up to £1,300,” she shared.

Her second job involves cleaning in various cities across the UK. Mimi works four hours per week, typically on Tuesdays and Thursdays, earning £25 per hour. This translates to £100 (approximately KSh 18,475) weekly. She highlighted that payments for this job are processed weekly, ensuring a steady cash flow.

Additionally, Mimi works as a bank staff member at a care home. Although this role is not permanent, it allows her to pick shifts based on her availability. In this job, she usually works night shifts from 8 PM to 6 AM and earns between £700 and £750 (approximately KSh 129,325) per month, depending on the number of shifts she takes.

Mimi’s daily routine is a delicate balancing act. On Mondays, for instance, her morning begins with dressing her children, after which her husband takes them to school. Once the children are off, Mimi catches up on much-needed rest, sleeping from 8 AM to 2 PM before preparing for her next tasks.

Mimi’s story is a testament to the rewards of hard work, adaptability, and effective time management. Her determination to seize opportunities and make the most of her circumstances serves as an inspiration to many who aspire to succeed abroad despite the challenges.
