George Natembeya blasts Ruto-Tuseme ukweli ! Former President Uhuru Kenyatta rolled out the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP) in 2017 under the Big Four Agenda without introducing a mandatory,

Former Kenya Police Chief George Natembeya has publicly criticized President William Ruto, highlighting concerns over the impact of a new housing levy on government employees.

Natembeya argued that under the Affordable Housing Programme (AHP), which was rolled out in 2017 as part of former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Big Four Agenda, no mandatory nationwide housing deduction was introduced on payslips.

“Tuseme ukweli! Former President Uhuru Kenyatta rolled out the Affordable Housing Programme without introducing a mandatory, nationwide housing levy on payslips,” Natembeya said, emphasizing the difference in approach.

He further claimed that current government employees are facing financial strain under the new system. “Payslip imekonda kama ulimi ya paka,” he stated, using a metaphor to describe the reduced take-home pay caused by the deductions.

Natembeya’s comments have sparked debate on social media, with some supporting his call for transparency and fairness, while others argue that the levy is a necessary step to fund nationwide housing initiatives.

As discussions continue, questions are being raised about the balance between policy implementation and the welfare of civil servants, particularly in light of the AHP’s ongoing rollout.
