Nominated MP Oscar Sudi has unleashed a furious rebuke at Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and MP John Malala following the controversial Othaya incident. Speaking in strong terms, Sudi accused the leaders of irresponsibility, saying their actions risked harming children and creating unnecessary tension, and he criticized attempts to shift blame onto President William Ruto.
Sudi specifically told Gachagua to reserve his “foolishness” for personal matters rather than endangering the public, highlighting that the recent events at a local church in Othaya endangered children and disrupted community peace. He condemned the behavior as reckless, arguing that leaders should prioritize accountability and the safety of citizens over political point-scoring.
The MP’s remarks come amid growing tensions between political figures in Nyeri County, with the Othaya incident sparking widespread debate over leadership conduct, public safety, and the ethical responsibilities of elected officials. Sudi’s intervention underscores the heated nature of local politics and the expectations citizens have for their leaders to act responsibly and refrain from inciting conflict.
