Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has extended a heartfelt gesture to the grieving family of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo, offering both financial support and long-term assistance for her young children.
According to close family sources, Uhuru contributed KSh1 million to help the family manage funeral expenses and immediate needs following Betty Bayo’s sudden and widely mourned death. The former Head of State is said to have delivered the support through his foundation team, who visited the family to condole with them.
In an even more impactful move, Uhuru directed that Betty Bayo’s children be placed under the Kenyatta Trust, an education support program founded by the Kenyatta family. This means the children will receive full educational sponsorship, including school fees, uniforms, learning materials, and mentorship, all the way to the highest level of academic pursuit.
The decision has been warmly received by many Kenyans who have been following the family’s emotional journey since the news of Betty’s passing broke. Social media users praised Uhuru for stepping in at a time when the children needed stability, calling the gesture noble, humane, and a reflection of genuine leadership.
Family members also expressed deep gratitude, saying the former President’s intervention has eased a huge burden and secured the children’s future at a time when they were most vulnerable.
Uhuru Kenyatta’s support adds to the growing wave of solidarity from fans, church leaders, public figures, and the wider Kenyan community, who have stood with the family during this difficult moment.
Betty Bayo, known for her uplifting gospel songs and inspirational message, leaves behind children whose future now appears more secure thanks to the Kenyatta Trust’s long-term commitment.
